PCCF Felicitates Students for Forest Photography Competition

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), J&K, Sarvesh Rai, felicitated school students who participated in a forest photography competition organised by Balwan Block of S Park Range under the Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar. The event was attended by the Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle; Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar; Divisional Forest Officer, Planning, Publicity and Statistics Division, Srinagar; and other senior officers of the Forest Department. The initiative, launched by the J&K Forest Department, seeks to encourage schoolchildren to develop a deeper understanding of environmental concerns and cultivate an interest in plantation and forest conservation. It also aims to promote awareness about the importance of healthy and sustainable forest ecosystems. Students from various schools across Srinagar participated enthusiastically in the competition. Four students were awarded top honours for their outstanding forest-themed paintings, while all participating students were felicitated with certificates of participation. Addressing the gathering, the PCCF said that schoolchildren participating in such initiatives can play an important role in spreading awareness about forest conservation and biodiversity protection. He appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue contributing towards nature conservation and sustainable environmental practices.
