New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting of the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM), comprising several senior Union Ministers, to review potential risks arising from the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The meeting focused on assessing the implications for India’s energy supplies, domestic availability of essential commodities, resilience of critical infrastructure, and the overall robustness of national supply chains. Ministers held detailed deliberations on preparedness measures and response strategies to mitigate any possible disruptions.
According to official sources, the Government of India is closely monitoring the evolving situation and has put in place necessary mechanisms to ensure stability across key sectors. The NDA government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterated its commitment to safeguarding citizens from any adverse impact of the conflict.
The discussions underscored the importance of coordinated inter-ministerial efforts to maintain uninterrupted supplies, strengthen infrastructure resilience, and ensure that essential services remain unaffected amid global uncertainties.
