Jammu, January 26, 2026: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, unfurled the National Flag at the Union Territory–level function marking the 77th Republic Day at MA Stadium here on Monday.
After unfurling the Tricolour, the Lieutenant Governor inspected the Republic Day Parade contingents and took the ceremonial salute. The march-past witnessed a disciplined and coordinated display by contingents drawn from the Army, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), India Reserve Police (IRP – Women and Men), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP), UT Disaster Response Force, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise and Taxation Department, Ex-Servicemen, NCC (Boys and Girls), Bharat Scouts and Guides (Boys and Girls), along with several school contingents. Brass and Pipe Bands of the Army, BSF, J&K Police, and band troops from various schools added to the ceremonial grandeur.
The celebrations also highlighted the developmental and cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir through colourful tableaux depicting key themes such as Operation Sindoor, Mission Yuva, Road Safety, Nasha Mukt J&K, Shram ko Samman, Saral Kar, Sashakt Bharat, and Food Safety.
The audience was further enthralled by a spectacular motorcycle acrobatic display by the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Dare-Devils, besides a vibrant cultural programme showcasing the Union Territory’s rich and diverse heritage.
Earlier in the day, the Lieutenant Governor visited the Police Martyrs Memorial and the Balidan Stambh, where he laid wreaths and paid homage to the brave personnel of the Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
