The disposal exercise was conducted at the Industrial Growth Centre (IGC), Lassipora, where confiscated contraband was destroyed through scientific methods in accordance with legal and environmental safety norms. The entire operation was supervised by the Drug Disposal Committee and executed in strict compliance with the provisions of the NDPS Act and other prescribed legal procedures to ensure transparency, accountability and environmental protection. During the drive, the authorities destroyed 1.650 kilograms of poppy straw, 113.646 kilograms of ganja, 2.133 kilograms of charas, 881.52 grams of heroin, 28 bottles (10 ml each) and one bottle (1,940 ml) of Codeine Phosphate syrup, besides 12,859 psychotropic tablets and a substantial quantity of psychotropic capsules. The disposal process was conducted in the presence of senior police officers and members of the Drug Disposal Committee, including the SP Headquarters Srinagar, DySP DAR, DySP CID (CI), Public Prosecutor of the NDPS Court Srinagar, representatives of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), an Executive Magistrate, officials from the Legal Metrology Department, the J&K Pollution Control Board and other officers of District Police Srinagar.
