This Year, India’s Hajj Quota Increases to 1.75 Lakh As Both Countries Ink Pact


New Delhi, Jan 13, ANB: India and Saudi Arabia have finalized a bilateral agreement regarding the Hajj pilgrimage that has increased the quota of pilgrims to 1,75025 Lakhs this year.


According to the Associated News Bureau, Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, on his official visit to 

Saudi Arabia held discussions with H.E. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah. Rijiju was received in Saudi Arabia by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Khan and Deputy Minister for Umrah Affairs, Prof. Abdulaziz A. Wazzan. Wazzan also hosted Rijiju for an official dinner.


Both the countries signed a bilateral Hajj agreement for 2025 that made an allocation of an increased quota of 1,75,025 Indian pilgrims for the pilgrimage. 


Later on his X handle, Rijiju said: “Haj Agreement 2025 signed with H.E. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Finalized a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Hajj 2025. We are committed to providing the best possible services to all our Haj pilgrims.” (ANB)
