8th Central Pay Commission to Hold Consultations with J&K Administration, Employee Representatives
Srinagar, May 30: The 8th Central Pay Commission is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir from May 31 to June 5 to interact with various stakeholders, including government employees, unions and associations, as part of its ongoing consultation process.
According to official sources who spoke to the Associated News Bureau (ANB), the Commission will hold a presentation and interaction session with representatives of the Union Territory administration on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Meeting Hall CR-3 of the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
The meeting will be led by the Chief Secretary and attended by senior officers from key departments of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Participants will include Additional Chief Secretaries from the Jal Shakti, Power Development, Tourism, Agriculture, Finance and Public Works (R&B) Departments, along with officials from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Principal Secretaries of the Home Department, Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat and Election Department, Commissioner Secretaries of the General Administration Department and the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, besides Heads of Departments of the Finance Department, are also scheduled to participate in the interaction.
The visit is aimed at gathering feedback and representations from stakeholders before the Commission finalises its recommendations on pay structures, allowances and other service-related matters concerning government employees. ANB
