Srinagar, July 28 : ANB: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, visited the Chinar Corps headquarters to review the ongoing operational preparedness and counter-terrorism efforts in the north Kashmir, including the high-priority Operation "SHIVA".
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the prevailing security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland, as well as the ongoing anti-terror operations in sensitive areas. He assessed the synergy and coordination among field units and other security agencies operating in the region.
The Army Commander appreciated all ranks of Chinar Corps for their unyielding commitment, exemplary professionalism, and resolute endurance under demanding and high-altitude operational conditions. He emphasized the critical importance of sustained alertness, situational awareness, and proactive engagement to maintain peace and stability.
Lt Gen Sharma reiterated the Army’s focus on ensuring a secure environment for civilians and stressed the need for continued efforts to counter cross-border threats. His visit comes amid heightened security deployment during the ongoing pilgrimage season and increased vigilance across sensitive sectors. ANB
