As part of their advanced professional military education, officers from the tri-services undergoing the prestigious Higher Command Course-54 visited the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur on Tuesday.
During the visit, the officers were given detailed briefings on the operational environment and logistics challenges unique to the Northern Command—an area that encompasses some of India’s most strategically sensitive and operationally complex regions.
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, addressed the officers and provided a comprehensive overview of the prevailing security situation, emerging threats, and the likely trajectory of future operations. He stressed the importance of jointness, inter-service coordination, and adaptive leadership in modern military operations.
The session concluded with an engaging interactive discussion, allowing officers to directly interact with senior commanders and deepen their understanding of on-ground operational dynamics.
The visit forms a key component of the Higher Command Course curriculum, designed to prepare future military leaders for senior roles in integrated and joint operations.
