BJP Leaders, MLAs Visit Shelling-Hit Uri in Baramulla District Ashok Koul Distributes Relief Kits, Condemns Pakistan’s Cowardly Attacks on Civilians

Uri, Baramulla – May 17, 2025:
In a strong show of solidarity with border residents, a senior BJP delegation led by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Org), J&K BJP, visited the shelling-affected villages of Uri in the Baramulla district on Saturday. The region has recently witnessed intense and unprovoked shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC), leaving many families displaced and traumatized.

The delegation included prominent BJP leaders such as Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi (MoS), MLAs Shakti Parihar and Balwant Singh Mankotia, along with Anwar Khan, Mudasir Wani, Dr. Fareeda Khan, Sajid Yousuf Shah, MM War, Sahil Bashir Bhat, Manzoor Bhat, and the Baramulla District President with his team.

During the visit, the leaders met with affected families, assessed the damage, and oversaw the distribution of essential relief kits. Ashok Koul condemned the shelling as a cowardly and deliberate attack on civilians, stating:

> “Pakistan has once again exposed its true face by targeting peaceful civilian populations. Such acts are a grave violation of international humanitarian norms and reflect the desperation and moral bankruptcy of Pakistan’s leadership. India, under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will not tolerate such provocations.”

Koul assured the victims of full support, pledging that the BJP will pursue rehabilitation, compensation, and justice for the affected. He also emphasized that the party will take the matter to the highest authorities to expedite relief efforts.

> “You are not alone. The BJP is your family and will always stand by you in times of crisis,” he said.

The delegation also stressed the urgent need for permanent shelters and enhanced security infrastructure in border areas to safeguard residents from future attacks.

The visit sent a clear message: while hostile actions may attempt to disrupt peace, India remains united and unwavering. The BJP reaffirmed its commitment to not only governance but also to standing beside citizens in their most difficult times.
