Jammu, July 28 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for the annual Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra from the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Extending his best wishes to the yatris, the LG hoped for a safe and spiritually enriching journey for all devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha described the yatra as a deeply transformative experience. “The sacred journey to the abode of Mahadev is an enlightening experience. I strongly believe this pilgrimage is the greatest alchemy and unveils secrets of life before the devotees,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the efforts of Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, the tourism department, district administration, and various other stakeholders including langar service organizations, for their seamless coordination and preparations for the annual pilgrimage and Budha Amarnath Ji Mela.
Interacting with media persons, the LG informed that over 1,000 pilgrims from different parts of the country were part of the first batch. He further shared that, till date, over 3.77 lakh devotees have performed darshan at the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. He expressed hope that a large number of devotees would also undertake the Budha Amarnath pilgrimage and pray to Lord Bholenath for peace and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir and the nation.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed the presence of several eminent spiritual leaders, heads of religious organisations, public representatives, senior civil and police officials, members of security forces, prominent citizens, and hundreds of enthusiastic devotees.
