CM Omar Abdullah Releases ‘Samnvay’, Coffee-Table Book Showcasing J&K’s Digital Transformation

Jammu, December 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday released a coffee-table book titled ‘Samnvay’, highlighting the digital transformation journey of Jammu and Kashmir and documenting key projects and technological contributions of the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) in the Union Territory.
The release ceremony was attended by Minister for Science & Technology and Information Technology Satish Sharma; Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani; Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Shantmanu; Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta; Commissioner Secretary, GAD/Information, M. Raju; Secretary IT Piyush Singla; Special Director BISAG-N; Secretary School Education; CEO JKeGA, besides other senior officers.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister lauded BISAG-N for developing practical and innovative solutions to complex governance challenges in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that several of these initiatives have relevance beyond the region. He said the unique geography and climatic conditions of J&K necessitate a strong thrust on digitisation, enabling equitable and efficient delivery of public services.
“Digitisation of governance ensures that citizens receive the same quality of services, regardless of whether they reside in remote areas or urban centres,” the Chief Minister observed.
Describing Samnvay as a comprehensive snapshot of the collaboration between the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and BISAG-N, he said the publication captures how technology-driven interventions have enhanced administrative efficiency and service delivery.
The Chief Minister thanked the Director General of BISAG-N and his team for their sustained efforts and expressed hope that Samnvay would be the first in a series of publications documenting future projects and milestones, as the government continues to leverage technology for improved governance in the coming years.
