CRPF Launches Skill Development Civic Action Programme for Students in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 24, 2026:
Reinforcing its commitment to community outreach and youth empowerment, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday inaugurated a Civic Action Programme on Skill Development at Girls Higher Secondary School Sonwar.
The initiative, led by the 79 Battalion of CRPF, aims to equip students—particularly young women—with industry-relevant skills to enhance their employability and promote self-reliance. The structured training programme includes modules such as Front Office Associate, Data Entry Operator, and Basic Computer Course.
Designed to align with current market demands, the curriculum focuses on developing communication skills, office management techniques, computer literacy, and data handling capabilities. These competencies are intended to prepare participants for opportunities in both government and private sectors.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Commandant Sanjay Kumar highlighted the importance of skill-based education in today’s knowledge-driven economy. He encouraged students to make full use of the programme, noting that such initiatives play a vital role in building confidence, fostering independence, and shaping responsible citizens.
The event was also addressed by Mohammad Mushtaq, Joint Director at the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, who underscored the significance of the programme in strengthening students’ career prospects.
The school’s Principal and faculty appreciated the initiative and assured full cooperation for its successful implementation.
The programme will run over the coming weeks under the guidance of certified instructors, with a focus on practical training and hands-on learning.
The initiative reflects CRPF’s continued efforts to promote inclusive development, enhance skill capacity, and strengthen community engagement in the region.
