Director Estates Conducts Extensive Inspection of Office and Residential Facilities in Srinagar


Srinagar, December 25:
Director Estates, Kashmir, Ashwani Khajuria on Wednesday conducted an extensive inspection of office and residential accommodations and allied facilities at various locations across Srinagar, including the Civil Secretariat, Assembly Complex, Old Secretariat Complex, and the government residential colonies at Tulsibagh and Jawahar Nagar.
During the inspection, the Director was accompanied by senior officers of the department, including the FA/CAO, Deputy Director Estates, Deputy Director (P), Assistant Director Estates, and other officials.
At the Civil Secretariat, the Director undertook a comprehensive review of multiple blocks, assessing the progress of ongoing renovation, upgradation, cleaning, fumigation, and sanitation works. He directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to ensure time-bound completion of all works to avoid inconvenience to officers and staff with regard to office accommodation and related facilities.
The Director inspected various offices, reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing works, and emphasized that all amenities for Civil Secretariat employees must be maintained in a functional, clean, and employee-friendly condition.
He also reviewed the proposal for the construction of an additional block within the Secretariat premises and instructed the executing agency to submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) at the earliest to facilitate timely commencement of the project and augment office accommodation.
During the visit, the Director held a detailed meeting with accompanying officers to take stock of the office and residential accommodations managed by the department. Issues and requirements raised by different sections were also reviewed.
The Director further visited the Assembly Complex and Old Secretariat Complex, where he assessed the existing office infrastructure and issued instructions for proper upkeep, timely repairs, and optimal utilization in the interest of efficient government functioning.
Additionally, he conducted a detailed inspection of residential accommodations at Tulsibagh and Jawahar Nagar, reviewing ongoing repair and renovation works. He physically inspected several quarters to assess the condition of facilities and the progress of maintenance activities.
The Director directed field functionaries to closely monitor renovation and sanitation works at all locations and promptly address any bottlenecks. He also stressed the need to ensure a clean, safe, and conducive living and working environment for officers, officials, and their families.
