LG Pays Tributes to Mahamana Malaviya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Birth Anniversaries


Jammu, December 25, 2025:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid rich tributes to Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of their birth anniversaries, recalling their enduring contribution to nation-building and their vision for a developed and harmonious India.
Addressing a commemorative function at Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Inter College in Ghazipur, the Lieutenant Governor said that the ideals and vision of Mahamana Malaviya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee—centred on social harmony, equality, justice and national self-reliance—continue to inspire generations. He described the two leaders as visionary architects of modern India.
This year marks the 164th birth anniversary of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Highlighting Mahamana Malaviya’s unparalleled contribution, the Lieutenant Governor said he transformed modern education into a powerful instrument of national development. He noted that the establishment of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) through public participation and donations reflected Mahamana’s commitment to inclusive and value-based education.
Drawing parallels with present-day initiatives, the Lieutenant Governor said that inspired by Malaviya’s ideals, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been effectively utilised to strengthen infrastructure and welfare initiatives. He added that in Jammu and Kashmir, the foundation has been laid for over 1,800 houses for families affected by Pakistani shelling during Operation Sindoor and by recent natural disasters.
Paying homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Lieutenant Governor said Atal Ji awakened India’s inner strength and instilled a sense of self-confidence on the global stage. He observed that Vajpayee’s emphasis on good governance, transparency, accountability and citizen-centric administration laid the foundation for inclusive and rapid development.
The Lieutenant Governor further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the dreams and vision of Mahamana Malaviya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee are being realised. He said India’s emergence as the world’s fastest-growing economy reflects this transformative journey.
“For the first time in history, the country is witnessing a strong and decisive government committed to fulfilling the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that the revival of ancient culture, upliftment of the poorest sections and transformation of villages into dynamic centres of growth embody the ideals of these great leaders.
