DRDO Launches Special Campaign 6.0 to Clear Pending Cases, Digitise Records
New Delhi, October 29: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched Special Campaign 6.0 for the Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM 6.0) across its headquarters, laboratories and establishments, with a focus on reducing administrative pendency, expediting public grievance redressal and improving overall efficiency.
Coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the campaign also aims to promote the digitisation of records, strengthen cleanliness initiatives and ensure optimal utilisation of available workspace.
As part of the campaign, DRDO has achieved 100 per cent of its targets for the disposal of pending public grievances, Parliamentary Assurances and inter-ministerial references, reflecting progress in addressing administrative backlogs.
The organisation is also processing approximately 20,000 files identified for weeding out in accordance with prescribed record retention schedules. Shredded paper generated during the process is being sent to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for recycling.
In a major step towards digital record management, around five lakh pages of historical documents and records have been digitised to improve accessibility, preserve institutional information and enhance administrative transparency.
Meanwhile, cleanliness and workspace optimisation drives are underway across DRDO campuses, residential complexes and research and testing ranges. These initiatives include the removal of obsolete equipment, redundant furniture and scrap materials to improve the utilisation and upkeep of available spaces.
The campaign has also generated revenue of ₹35 lakh through the environmentally responsible disposal of scrap and obsolete hardware.
Through these measures, DRDO aims to streamline administrative processes, strengthen public service delivery, improve workplace management and advance sustainable practices across its establishments. ANB
