Global Kashmiri Pandit Delegation Explores Kashmir’s Spiritual Heritage at Ishwar Ashram

SRINAGAR, June 7 (ANB): The Ishwar Ashram Trust on Sunday hosted delegates of the Global Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Tour and Conclave at its main Ashram in Srinagar, providing members of the Kashmiri Pandit diaspora an opportunity to reconnect with their cultural, spiritual and ancestral heritage. According to a statement issued by the Trust, the visit was aimed at familiarising the delegates with the Ashram’s longstanding role in preserving Kashmir’s spiritual philosophy, cultural traditions and intellectual legacy. The programme commenced with a traditional Pooja at the Ashram’s main sanctuary, followed by a special educational session. Addressing the gathering, Pran Nath Koul delivered a lecture highlighting Kashmir’s rich philosophical traditions and spiritual heritage. The delegation was later taken on a guided tour of the Ashram complex by Vijay Kumar Koul, who outlined its historical development, architectural significance and contributions to spiritual education and cultural preservation. As part of the visit, the delegates explored the Ashram’s publication and book division, which houses an extensive collection of scriptures, historical texts, rare manuscripts and philosophical literature reflecting Kashmir’s rich intellectual heritage. Members of the visiting delegation expressed appreciation for the Ashram’s efforts to preserve and promote Kashmir’s unique cultural and spiritual traditions. Several participants described the experience as enriching and inspiring, noting its significance in strengthening their connection with their roots. The Trust stated that hosting the international delegation reaffirmed the Ashram’s commitment to serving as a centre for the preservation and promotion of Kashmiri heritage, literature, philosophy and spiritual thought. The programme concluded with an interactive session over traditional Tea Prasad, during which delegates engaged with Ashram administrators, scholars and Trust members and shared their experiences and reflections. The Ishwar Ashram Trust said it will continue its efforts to preserve and disseminate Kashmir’s spiritual, philosophical and cultural legacy through educational initiatives, publications and outreach programmes connecting scholars, seekers and members of the diaspora across the world.
