J&K Government Fixes 21-Day Deadline for Key Public Services to Ensure Timely Approvals
Srinagar: In a significant step towards strengthening transparent, accountable and citizen-centric governance, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified a 21-day timeline for the delivery of key public services under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011.
The prescribed timeline covers essential administrative approvals, including No Objection Certificates (NOCs) required for building permissions from various departments, such as Revenue, Forest, Jal Shakti, Power Development, Roads and Buildings (R&B), and local Development Authorities.
The initiative is aimed at streamlining the approval process, reducing unnecessary administrative delays and ensuring greater accountability in the delivery of public services.
The move is expected to benefit citizens seeking building permissions by establishing a defined timeframe for obtaining the requisite clearances from the concerned departments. It is also intended to improve coordination among government departments and make administrative procedures more efficient and accessible.
By bringing key services within a time-bound framework, the government seeks to strengthen public service delivery and enhance ease of living for residents across Jammu and Kashmir.
The notification marks another step towards promoting responsive administration, improving transparency and ensuring that citizens receive essential government services within the prescribed timeframe. ANB
