Srinagar, October 7, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, for the advance release of the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme for the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said that approximately Rs.171 crore will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of around 8.55 lakh eligible farmers across the Union Territory.
“This timely financial assistance will help our farmers sustain their livelihoods and accelerate recovery efforts to resume agricultural activities,” the LG stated.
The Lieutenant Governor described the initiative as a reflection of the Central Government’s commitment to support the farming community during challenging times. “Our farmers are the backbone of the economy, providing a strong foundation for growth in other sectors. The Government of India is fully committed to extending all possible assistance to mitigate the effects of the worst floods in several decades and to ensure stability in the lives of the affected population,” he added.
