Leh, October 6: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review the overall security situation in Leh and other parts of the Union Territory.
The Lt Governor noted that Ladakh continues to remain peaceful, with normal functioning of schools, offices, and markets. He directed officials to maintain high levels of vigilance and preparedness, stressing that peace and public safety must remain top priorities for the administration.
Commending the role of the security forces and local communities, the Lt Governor lauded their cooperation and contribution towards maintaining stability in the region. He called for coordinated efforts among government agencies, law enforcement, and citizens to uphold law and order while advancing the Union Territory’s development goals.
Underscoring the importance of community participation, Kavinder Gupta urged people to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to authorities. “Public vigilance is one of the key pillars of Ladakh’s stability and development,” he remarked, adding that every citizen has a role to play in ensuring lasting peace.
Highlighting Ladakh’s unique cultural and environmental heritage, the Lt Governor appealed to residents to preserve local traditions while embracing modern growth. “Peaceful coexistence and active community engagement will ensure that Ladakh continues to prosper safely,” he said.
He further assured that the administration remains committed to balancing security measures with the everyday needs of citizens, minimizing disruption to normal life while strengthening safety infrastructure.
Concluding the meeting, the Lt Governor emphasized that Ladakh’s progress depends on the collective commitment of the government, security forces, and the people. He called for patience, unity, and cooperation in upholding the region’s longstanding values of harmony and resilience.
“A vigilant, informed, and responsible public is the cornerstone of a secure and thriving Ladakh,” Kavinder Gupta stated.
