Leh, October 5:
Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta on Saturday chaired a high-level security review meeting in Leh, reiterating that sustained peace is the cornerstone of progress and reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to Ladakh’s steady growth, stability, and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, DGP Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, SSP Leh, CO 79 Sanjay Kumar, CO 25 Rajat Jain, and other senior officers.
Officials briefed the Lt Governor on the prevailing situation in the Union Territory, informing him that peace and normalcy continue to prevail across Ladakh, with public life and daily activities proceeding smoothly.
The Lt Governor commended the people of Ladakh for their cooperation with the Administration and Security Forces, noting that their discipline and sense of responsibility had played a vital role in sustaining peace and harmony during the recent relaxation period.
Expressing satisfaction over the situation, LG Gupta directed officials to ensure close coordination among all security and administrative agencies to maintain order. He emphasized the importance of constant vigilance, proactive engagement, and public participation in safeguarding peace and stability.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to citizens’ safety, security, and welfare, the Lt Governor called upon all sections of society to continue supporting the Administration in upholding unity and stability in the region.
Assuring that remaining restrictions, imposed as precautionary measures, will be reviewed and lifted in a phased manner, the Lt Governor said the Administration is fully committed to restoring complete normalcy and public convenience at the earliest.
Reaffirming the Administration’s pledge to transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance, LG Gupta said that the collective efforts of the Government and the people will continue to guide Ladakh towards lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
