Srinagar, August 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on today interacted with members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Srinagar, praising the body’s efforts to promote trade, commerce, and industry in Jammu and Kashmir.
Calling India “one of the oldest civilizations in the world,” the LG underlined that the nation’s strength lies in compassion, brotherhood, and cultural heritage that has made its economy resilient. “This meeting of ICC in Srinagar is not just a platform for networking and collaboration for local businesses but also a strong statement that no terrorist force can subdue India,” he said.
Highlighting the investment opportunities in the Union Territory, Sinha said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, J&K is undergoing an “industrial revolution” with historic strides in road, rail, and air connectivity. “J&K has emerged as an attractive destination for investors,” he added.
He lauded ICC’s contribution to policy advocacy, global partnerships, and improving India’s competitiveness, terming it a vital pillar in the country’s march towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
The LG assured industry leaders of complete support and handholding in exploring profitable ventures in J&K. The meeting was attended by ICC President Abhyuday Jindal, Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce Vikramjit Singh, Director General ICC Dr. Rajeev Singh, and other senior business leaders from across the country.
