Lieutenant Governor Attends Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day Celebrations at Lok Bhavan

Jammu, January 24, 2026:Jammu and Kashmir Lok Bhavan on Saturday hosted grand celebrations of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, marked by cultural fervour and enthusiastic participation.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He paid rich tributes to the great luminaries, freedom fighters and revolutionaries from the state, recalling their decisive contribution to the making of modern India.
The Lieutenant Governor observed that scholars and literary figures have long recognised ancient Uttar Pradesh as the heartland of India and the cradle of some of the world’s most significant scriptures, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Puranas. “To me, Uttar Pradesh is a perennial source that has nurtured the cultural consciousness of the nation,” he said.
He noted that the richness of Uttar Pradesh cannot be adequately captured in words and must be experienced to be truly understood. Describing its spiritual legacy, the Lieutenant Governor said the sacred land where the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati converge has witnessed millennia of history and continues to offer timeless wisdom to humanity, inspiring global consciousness through its profound cultural and literary heritage.
Reflecting on the spiritual and cultural contributions of the region, Shri Manoj Sinha said that Uttar Pradesh forms the vital core of India, binding the nation together from North to South and East to West. He highlighted the teachings of the region’s spiritual luminaries, who emphasised that the ultimate pursuit in life is self-realisation. “The most meaningful journey is the inward journey, a wisdom that remains deeply relevant in navigating today’s fast-changing world,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also underscored the remarkable progress achieved by Uttar Pradesh in recent years, describing its development trajectory as exemplary. He expressed confidence that the state would continue to advance on the path of growth and prosperity, attaining greater economic milestones in the years ahead.
The cultural evening was attended by Member of Parliament from Hathras, Shri Anoop Pradhan, senior government officials, students and members of the Uttar Pradesh community residing in the Union Territory.
