Jammu, January 13, 2026:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Tuesday launched the special edition of ‘Sangarmal’, a magazine published by the Hindu Education Society Kashmir, at Gandhi Memorial Camp College, Raipur, Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the vital role of cultural and spiritual heritage in strengthening social harmony and shaping a progressive future for Jammu and Kashmir. He said that in a world driven by rapid technological advancement and globalization, the enduring values, traditions, arts and beliefs of India remain the cornerstone of a resilient and inclusive society.
“Our timeless spiritual and cultural heritage—our shared traditions, rituals, arts and values—will continue to guide society and fuel the holistic growth of the nation,” the Lieutenant Governor said. He described Jammu and Kashmir’s ancient cultural legacy and spiritual wisdom as an “invisible force” that has the power to propel societal development.
Referring to the region’s deep-rooted traditions, Shri Sinha said that since Vedic times, these values have served as guiding principles, laying a strong ethical foundation for overall progress. He underlined the need to instil virtues such as compassion, humility and resilience among citizens to further strengthen community bonds.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed that for Jammu and Kashmir to realise its full potential, people must become more innovative, focus on intellectual advancement, take major strides in research and development, promote creative industries and make sustained investments in heritage conservation.
He lauded the Hindu Education Society, Kashmir for its continued efforts in promoting cultural awareness, social responsibility and the transformative role of education in society.
Among those present on the occasion were Padma Shri Dr K.N. Pandita; Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo; Prof. B.L. Zutshi, President, Hindu Education Society Kashmir; Shri Ram Niwas Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, School Education; office bearers of the Society; and prominent citizens from various walks of life.
Dr Ashok Bhan, Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU; former DGP Shri Kuldeep Khoda; Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation (M) Commissioner; and senior officials also attended the launch ceremony.
