Manoj Sinha Addresses Atma-Nirbhar Bharat Event in Jammu Calls for Quality, Innovation and Reliability to Strengthen ‘Made in India’ Brand

Jammu, March 1, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday outlined three core principles—Quality, Innovation and Reliability—to reinforce the “Made in India” brand and advance the vision of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat. He said these principles must define the new identity of India’s domestic manufacturing sector.
The Lieutenant Governor was speaking at an Atma-Nirbhar Bharat event organised by the Federation of Trade & Industry of India (FTII) in Jammu, where he also felicitated recipients of the Vyapar Ratan Awards for their notable contributions to trade and industry.
Describing Atma-Nirbhar Bharat as a “national awakening” and an economic transformation driven by industrial strength, he said that “Made in India” has emerged as a symbol of trust in global trade. He stressed that products bearing the label must inspire confidence worldwide.
The Lieutenant Governor said India began charting a new course towards self-reliance in 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, building its own development trajectory rather than following a predetermined path. He noted that the country is witnessing an economic renaissance, with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) forming the backbone of the economy and sustaining millions of families.
He emphasized that trade should not be viewed merely as an exchange of goods but as a flow of opportunity that generates employment, skills and economic stability. According to him, small-scale and micro enterprises now anchor Jammu and Kashmir’s economy.
Referring to developments in the Union Territory post-2019, the Lieutenant Governor said significant strides have been made in industrial growth and the MSME sector. He stated that the new industrial policy has positioned Jammu and Kashmir among the country’s preferred investment destinations, while thousands of small and micro manufacturing ventures have created opportunities for youth and women.
He also underlined the need for rapid economic growth, technological integration and a transparent, corruption-free system. Calling for collective efforts to ensure lasting peace, he urged all sections of society to remain vigilant against attempts to radicalize youth and sustain the terror ecosystem.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Gulam Ali Khatana; Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma; Chairman of the National Traders Welfare Board Sunil Singhi; Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh; and FTII National President Sanjay Bansal, along with prominent business leaders and senior officials.
