Jammu, January 10:A preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament 2025–26 was chaired by Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) Armed, at the Armed Police Headquarters (APHQ) on Friday.
The meeting focused on finalising logistical, security and administrative preparations for the tournament, which will be held from February 1 to 5, 2026. The event is being organised under the Civic Action Programme of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, aimed at promoting sports, youth engagement and community bonding.
Senior officers from the Armed Police, Sports and allied wings attended the meeting and briefed the chair on arrangements related to venue readiness, accommodation of teams, transportation, medical facilities, crowd management and overall coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament.
Anand Jain stressed the importance of meticulous planning and inter-departmental coordination to make the event successful and to provide a safe, competitive and inspiring environment for the participating teams. He directed all concerned officers to adhere to timelines and ensure that all arrangements are in place well ahead of the tournament.
The Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament is a significant annual sporting event under the J&K Police’s civic outreach initiatives, aimed at encouraging young athletes and strengthening police–public relations through sports.
