Srinagar, May 16, 2025 The Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir has officially reappointed Prof. Nilofer Khan as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir for a further term of two years, effective from May 19, 2025.
The reappointment was made by Chancellor Manoj Sinha under the authority granted by Section 12(5) of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969.
The order, dated May 16, 2025, was issued by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor. Copies of the order were circulated to key administrative officials including the Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, Principal Secretary to the Government (Finance Department), and the Registrar of the University of Kashmir.
This development marks a notable moment for the academic sector in Jammu and Kashmir and is expected to contribute positively to the continued progress of the University of Kashmir.
