Renzushah Calls for Quality Education to Preserve Kashmir’s Legacy of Knowledge

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 5, 2026: Chief Commissioner of JK Scouts and Hindustan Scouts and Chairman of the Aalami Urdu Conference J&K and Kashmir Society, Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah, on Saturday stressed the need for imparting quality education to children to preserve Kashmir’s rich civilisational heritage and its enduring identity as a centre of knowledge. He was delivering the keynote address at the Teachers’ Day and Annual Day celebration of Delhi Wonderland School, held at the All India Radio Kashmir Auditorium in Srinagar. Addressing a packed gathering of scholars, writers, artists, teachers, parents and distinguished guests, Renzushah said Kashmir has historically been synonymous with a proud and composite civilisation. He maintained that the younger generation must receive value-based and high-quality education so that the region’s intellectual and cultural legacy continues to flourish. The programme featured a series of impressive cultural performances by the school’s students, who enthralled the audience with their talent and confidence. The performances reflected the dedication and commitment of the teaching faculty. School Principal Dr. Ravisa Jeelani Koul was widely appreciated for her efforts in organising the celebration and nurturing the students. Renzushah also highlighted the significance of the event’s theme, “Kong Posh,” describing it as a symbol deeply rooted in Kashmir’s cultural and historical consciousness. He referred to the ancient traditions of learning and moral education and emphasised the responsibility of teachers in carrying this legacy forward among Generation Z and Generation Alpha. Recalling Kashmir’s rich intellectual history, he referred to the contributions of several prominent figures associated with the region’s composite cultural heritage, including Bulbul Shah, Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, Padmasambhava, Sultan Rinchen Shah, Kota Rani, Lal Ded and Sheikh-ul-Alam. He urged teachers to draw inspiration from Kashmir’s centuries-old tradition of scholarship, tolerance and coexistence and inculcate these values in young minds. On the occasion, Renzushah felicitated outstanding teachers and talented students of the school in recognition of their achievements and contributions. Special Teachers’ Day awards were also presented to members of the teaching staff for their commendable performances and dedication. A special memento was presented to Dr. Farooq Renzushah by Principal Dr. Ravisa Jeelani Koul in recognition of his contribution to scouting. Other distinguished guests were also presented with mementos of honour. Among those present at the event were renowned broadcaster Ashfaq Lone, members of the Children Welfare Committee J&K, including Ms. Nuzhat-ul-Nissa, Dr. Shahid Ahmad and Dr. Misbah Makhdoomi, besides Inspector Himant Sharma of Women Police Station Ram Bagh. The teachers also presented a special Teachers’ Day song, adding a memorable dimension to the celebrations.
