Srinagar, October 29:
A high-level Sikh delegation led by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami and Shri Mahant Manjit Singh met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today.
The delegation included Sardar Ajit Singh, Chairman of the All Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Coordination Committee; Bhai Harbhinder Singh, Incharge of SGPC Sikh Mission J&K; Bhai Jagtar Singh, Coordinator and Advisor of the SGPC Dharam Parchar Committee; along with SGPC Executive Members and representatives of various Gurdwara Management Committees.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the arrangements for the Nagar Kirtan scheduled to begin on November 15, 2025, from Gurdwara Matan Sahib. The procession will be part of the events marking the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which is expected to draw a large number of devotees.
The delegation also discussed issues related to the promotion of the Punjabi language in Jammu and Kashmir and sought support from the Union Territory administration in this regard.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appreciated the Sikh community’s contributions and assured full administrative support for the peaceful and grand observance of the Nagar Kirtan and Martyrdom Day celebrations.
