Srinagar, 10 Dec 2025: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, who also chairs the Monitoring and Management Committee of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, today reviewed the progress of solar rooftop installations across the district. The meeting was held at the DC Office Complex meeting hall.
The review was attended by Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Zonal Head J&K Bank, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, Lead District Manager (Banks), KPDCL engineers, and empanelled scheme vendors. Teams presented a division-wise appraisal of ongoing installation works and current status under the centrally sponsored scheme.
Labroo emphasized the need for mass awareness campaigns, door-to-door surveys, and speedy registration of eligible households. He directed all stakeholders to ensure enhanced awareness, efficient banking facilitation, and time-bound installation so that beneficiaries receive the scheme’s benefits without delay.
A detailed assessment of progress across all four Electric Divisions of Srinagar was conducted. The DC instructed KPDCL engineers to work in mission mode, strengthen coordination, remove procedural delays, and expedite implementation to cover all eligible households within the stipulated timeframe.
