Srinagar Police Attach Assets Worth Rs 6 Crore of Drug Peddlers Under NDPS Act, Major Crackdown Under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan Targets Properties Linked to Narcotics Trade

Srinagar, May 16: ANB; In a major crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties and a vehicle worth approximately ₹6 crore belonging to three alleged drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The action was carried out by Police Station Khanyar under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with multiple narcotics-related cases registered at the police station. According to police officials, the attached properties include a double-storeyed residential house along with eight shops built on 4.5 marlas of land at Koolipora, Khanyar, allegedly belonging to Nazir Ahmad Mir alias Nazir Lashkari. The property, estimated to be worth around Rs 3.2 crore, was attached in connection with FIR No. 08/2020 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. In another action, police attached a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01AW-8898 valued at around Rs 20 lakh, along with seven marlas of land and a temporary structure at Baghi Roop Singh, Miskeen Bagh, Khanyar, allegedly linked to Gulzar Ahmad Mir. The combined value of the attached assets is estimated at approximately ₹1.8 crore. The attachment was made in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act. Police also attached a single-storeyed residential house constructed on nine marlas of land at Lone Mohalla, Nowpora Khanyar, allegedly owned by Zahid Manzoor Rather. The property, valued at approximately Rs 80 lakh, was attached in connection with FIR No. 96/2020 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Officials said the attached assets were identified as illegally acquired properties generated through proceeds of narcotics trafficking and drug peddling. Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment towards eliminating the menace of drugs from society and stated that stringent action against drug traffickers and their illegally acquired assets would continue as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
