Budgam, January 25: Budgam district has been conferred with the Best District Election Award for its exceptional performance in the successful conduct of the Bye-Elections 2025.
The award was presented by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (UT) at a function held at the Convention Centre, Jammu.
The recognition highlights the district administration’s meticulous planning, effective execution, and strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. Budgam earned the honour for ensuring a transparent, peaceful, and voter-centric electoral process, maintaining high standards of integrity and seamless coordination among all stakeholders.
District Election Officer Budgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, IAS, dedicated the award to Team Budgam and all stakeholders associated with the smooth conduct of the bye-elections. He described the achievement as a result of the collective efforts of officers, polling staff, and security forces, while also appreciating the cooperation extended by political parties, candidates, media persons, and voters.
The district administration reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to democratic values, transparency, and professionalism in all future electoral exercises.
