He said these timeless principles continue to guide the nation’s progress and strengthen its democratic ethos.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the contribution of farmers, workers, teachers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, artisans, artists, students, youth, women, and members of civil society, noting that their dedication and resilience are vital for inclusive development and social harmony in Ladakh.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Armed Forces, paramilitary forces, and the Ladakh Police for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the borders and maintaining peace, security, and stability in the strategically important region. He said their courage and sacrifices uphold the sovereignty and integrity of the nation and inspire confidence among citizens.
The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the role of the civil administration in ensuring efficient, transparent, and people-centric governance, and commended their efforts in implementing development programmes and improving public service delivery, including in remote areas of Ladakh.
Emphasising the path ahead, he called for collective efforts to transform Ladakh into a model of sustainable development, environmental conservation, and economic prosperity. He stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure, promote renewable energy, eco-tourism, organic farming, education, healthcare, and skill development, while preserving Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage and fragile ecosystem.
Highlighting the importance of youth empowerment, the Lieutenant Governor said young people must be equipped with modern education, digital skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities to emerge as future leaders. He also underscored the need to empower women and marginalised sections of society through equal opportunities.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to constitutional ideals and work together towards building a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Ladakh, contributing to a strong and developed India. Jai Hind
