Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Engages with Multiple Delegations at Raabita Outreach Office



Srinagar, July 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today held a series of meetings with various delegations at the Public Outreach Office, Raabita, to review public concerns and discuss key development, institutional, and welfare-related issues across Jammu and Kashmir.

A delegation led by Dr. Mohd. Jaffar Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor from Kargil, highlighted the pressing challenges faced by students and patients from Ladakh—particularly Kargil—in educational and healthcare institutions across the Union Territory. The delegation also raised civic concerns affecting Ladakhi residents settled in J&K and sought government support for timely redressal.

Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, apprised the Chief Minister of the university’s ongoing academic and administrative initiatives. He sought the government's continued support for strengthening higher education infrastructure and academic opportunities in the region.

In a separate meeting, Sandeep Sharma, Zonal Head of ICICI Bank, discussed the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes with the Chief Minister. He informed him about a rescue vehicle deployed at Dachigam and briefed him on initiatives targeting employment generation and community welfare.

Brigadier Deepak Sajjan Har of NCC Srinagar also called on the Chief Minister and presented a memento commemorating the successful NCC Everest Expedition 2025. He shared the achievements of NCC cadets, emphasizing their contribution to national pride and adventure activities.

Later, Sameer Baktoo, Chairman of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), J&K Chapter, met the Chief Minister along with a visiting delegation from SKAL INTERNATIONAL, currently in Kashmir from Mumbai. The team proposed hosting the upcoming SKAL India Convention in Kashmir after the Amarnath Yatra season to showcase the Valley’s global tourism appeal.

The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all the delegations, assuring appropriate action and reaffirming the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns and supporting regional development initiatives.
