New Delhi, July 14 (ANB): In a significant gubernatorial reshuffle, the President of India has appointed senior BJP leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
The announcement was made through an official notification from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which also confirmed that the resignation of Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) from the post has been accepted.
A seasoned politician from Jammu, Kavinder Gupta is expected to take charge in Leh soon, marking a notable political development in the strategically sensitive Union Territory.
In other key appointments, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh has been named the Governor of Haryana, while veteran politician and former Union Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has been appointed the Governor of Goa.
“These appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices,” the statement from the President’s Secretariat read. (ANB)
