Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat, on Thursday chaired a focused security review meeting in South Kashmir, aimed at ensuring the continued safety of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra and tackling emerging security challenges in the region.
The meeting was attended by DIG South Kashmir Range, Shri Javed Iqbal Mattoo, SSPs of South Kashmir districts, and senior officers from the Indian Army, CRPF, and BSF.
Recognising the unflinching dedication of the security forces in safeguarding the annual pilgrimage, the DGP lauded their round-the-clock efforts and urged for continued synergy among all forces.
He emphasized the necessity of regular contingency drill rehearsals, identifying and plugging potential grey areas, and adapting operational strategies to tackle evolving threats. He further underlined the importance of relentless counter-insurgency operations in the hinterland to neutralize any security risks preemptively. ANB
