Srinagar, July 11: ANB,In a determined bid to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Indian Army has launched Operation SHIVA 2025 in close coordination with the Civil Administration and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). This high-tempo security operation aims to provide comprehensive protection along both the northern and southern pilgrimage routes, especially in light of emerging threats from Pakistan-backed terror networks following Operation Sindoor.
As part of the upgraded security framework, over 8,500 troops have been deployed, backed by an array of cutting-edge technological and logistical resources. The operation incorporates a dynamic counter-terrorism grid, prophylactic deployment, and corridor protection mechanisms to neutralize threats and respond swiftly to emergencies.
Key deployments and initiatives under Operation SHIVA 2025 include:
A robust Counter-UAS grid with over 50 C-UAS and Electronic Warfare systems to neutralize drone-based threats.
Continuous UAV surveillance and live monitoring of the Yatra tracks and the Holy Cave area.
Deployment of Engineer Task Forces for bridge construction, track maintenance, and disaster mitigation.
Over 150 medical personnel, including doctors, manning two Advanced Dressing Stations, nine Medical Aid Posts, a 100-bed field hospital, and 26 oxygen booths, supported by 2,00,000 litres of oxygen.
Signal companies for secure communication, EME detachments for technical support, and Bomb Disposal Squads.
Emergency provisions including rations for 25,000 people, tent cities, water points, and deployment of bulldozers and excavators.
Army helicopters on standby to handle emergency evacuation and rapid response.
The Indian Army is also leveraging advanced surveillance systems for real-time tracking of convoys and pilgrim movement from Jammu to the Holy Cave. Live feeds from high-resolution PTZ cameras and drones ensure 24/7 situational awareness, allowing security agencies to pre-empt and neutralize potential threats.
