Baramulla, November 2, 2025:
In a remarkable effort to promote community health and humanitarian service, the NGOs United Forum organized a Free Medical Camp at Daslipora Pattan, Baramulla, on Sunday. The initiative aimed to provide essential medical consultations and basic health services to underprivileged sections of society.
The camp was inaugurated by Shri Showkat Ahsai, President, Youth Hostel Association of India (YHAI), J&K Chapter, in the presence of Dr. Nighat, President, YHAI Women’s Wing J&K Chapter; Shri Bashir Irfan, Chairman, NGOs United Forum; Shri Rahi Riyaz Ahmad, President (Medalist TOT) and Divisional Warden, Civil Defence Srinagar; Shri Hakeem Ghulam Mohammad, former Mayor, Srinagar Municipal Corporation; Dr. A.A. Tahir, Chairman, Wings Social Welfare Society; Shri Shabir Khan, popularly known as the “Blood Man of Kashmir”; Dr. Muntazir Mehdi, medical expert; and several other dignitaries and social activists.
Prominent community members including Shri Shabir Ahmad Sheikh (Singapora), Shri Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din (Chainabal), Shri Feda Hussain Dar (Chainabal), Shri Masroor Ali Nakash, Shri Mohammad Ameen (Daslipora), Shri Mohammad Rafiq (Daslipora), Shri Ali Mohammad Najar (Chainabal), Miss Shaista Munzoor (Daslipora), and Shri Kawa Kisar (Red Drop) also attended and extended their support to the cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Showkat Ahmad Ashaie appreciated the collective efforts of the NGOs and volunteers for organizing such a meaningful community initiative, emphasizing the importance of health awareness in rural areas.
Dr. Nighat highlighted the need for regular medical outreach programs to ensure women’s and children’s health in remote regions.
Shri Rahi Riyaz Ahmad, in his address, commended the organizers and volunteers for their selfless dedication, stating that “true service lies in reaching the unreached and bringing health and hope to every doorstep.”
Shri Bashir Irfan, Chairman NGOs United Forum, expressed gratitude to all participating organizations, doctors, and local volunteers for making the camp a success.
Shri Hakeem Ghulam Mohammad lauded the initiative as a shining example of social cooperation and civic responsibility.
The medical team examined numerous patients and provided free medicines and consultations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Forum’s commitment to continue similar welfare activities across Jammu & Kashmir.
