India Joins US and 24 Nations in Global 6G Initiative

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 8: India has joined the United States and 24 other countries in an international initiative aimed at shaping the development of next-generation 6G telecommunications networks, according to reports, The initiative seeks to ensure that next-generation networks reflect shared security interests, strengthen competitiveness and drive innovation in 6G technology. The announcement followed a bilateral meeting between Union Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry Jitin Prasada and US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on the sidelines of the G20 Innovation Ministers’ Meeting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the future of 6G technology and ways to strengthen international cooperation in emerging telecommunications technologies. Jitin Prasada led the Indian delegation at the G20 Innovation Ministers’ Meeting held on September 1 and 2 in Chapel Hill. The meeting was hosted by the US Department of Commerce and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. India’s participation in the initiative reflects its growing engagement in international efforts to shape secure, competitive and innovative next-generation telecommunications technologies. ANB
