Satish Sharma Reiterates Commitment to People-Centric Governance, Promises Prompt Resolution of Public Grievances

JAMMU, July 13: Reaffirming the Jammu and Kashmir Government's commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centric governance, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma on Monday assured that genuine public issues would be addressed on priority through coordinated action by the concerned departments. The Minister was interacting with several deputations from different districts of the Jammu division, comprising representatives of social organisations, trade bodies, youth groups, panchayat members and local residents, who raised a wide range of civic and developmental issues. The deputations highlighted concerns related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, power infrastructure, sports facilities, ration distribution, digital services, employment opportunities and other area-specific developmental requirements aimed at improving public welfare. Giving a patient hearing to the delegations, Satish Sharma said the government remains committed to taking governance to the grassroots and ensuring equitable access to quality public services and modern infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. "The government is committed to delivering state-of-the-art facilities across Jammu and Kashmir. Our focus is not merely on creating infrastructure but on ensuring that every development initiative directly benefits the people and enhances their quality of life," the Minister said. Emphasising the importance of public participation in governance, Sharma said regular interaction with citizens enables the government to understand grassroots concerns and formulate policies that reflect the aspirations of the people. He assured the deputations that all genuine issues raised during the meeting would be examined on priority and taken up with the respective departments for early redressal. The Minister further said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the government is making sustained efforts to strengthen public infrastructure, improve service delivery, promote digital governance and expand opportunities for youth through enhanced sports infrastructure, technology-driven initiatives and inclusive development programmes. He also stressed that all departments have been directed to adopt a responsive and citizen-friendly approach in implementing welfare and development schemes, adding that timely resolution of public grievances remains one of the government's foremost priorities.
