SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: In a significant move aimed at revitalizing the tourism landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a detailed meeting with Union Minister for Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, on Wednesday evening.
The high-level discussion focused on strengthening tourism infrastructure, promoting cultural and heritage assets, and fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities across the region.
Both leaders agreed that tourism plays a vital role in driving economic growth and enhancing cultural exchange. Union Minister Shekhawat highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between the Centre and the UT administration, stating that, “Our shared vision is to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a world-class tourism destination that celebrates its natural beauty, rich heritage, and vibrant communities.”
