SSP Budgam Holds Public Meeting at Magam to Review Muharram Arrangements
Magam, June 19 (ANB): In preparation for the upcoming holy month of Muharram, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, Nikhil Borkar (IPS), chaired a public meeting in Magam to assess readiness and ensure peaceful conduct of religious events. He was accompanied by SDPO Magam, Mohd Ashrif Lissery (JKPS), and SHO Magam, Mudassir Zaroo.
The meeting saw participation from a broad section of society, including youth leaders, representatives of the Shia community, trade unions, market associations, Awqaf Committees, and volunteers from Magam, Kanterbug, Kanihama, Watmagam, Habbak, Nooripora, and nearby areas.
Community members raised various issues and demands concerning Muharram arrangements. SSP Borkar gave a patient hearing and addressed several police-related concerns on the spot. He also issued instructions to concerned officers for immediate action, while matters related to civil administration were assured to be taken up with the appropriate departments.
The attendees pledged full cooperation with both the police and civil administration, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining peace and harmony throughout the religious observances.
