Budgam, June 19: In a concerted effort to strengthen the implementation and monitoring of Mission YUVA in District Budgam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office.
The meeting saw participation from Yuvadoots deployed under the mission, their controlling officers, ADDC Budgam, ACR Budgam, all SDMs, CPO Budgam, CAO Budgam, the District Officer NABARD, officials from the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Budgam, and representatives from various banks.
Officials from DE&CC Budgam gave a detailed presentation outlining the objectives and significance of Mission YUVA, focusing on youth self-employment and entrepreneurship. A live demonstration of the Mission YUVA Portal was also conducted, showcasing procedures for registration, application submission, and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) by the Yuvadoots.
Reviewing the district's progress, the DC was informed that a total of 166 applications had been received under Mission YUVA—160 under Nano Enterprises, five under New MSMEs, and one under Existing MSMEs. Of these, 11 applications have been verified by the SBDU and forwarded to the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for final approval.
The baseline survey revealed that 1,35,314 households had been surveyed, identifying 4,952 Potential Entrepreneur Youth Registered (PEUR) and a total of 31,378 potential entrepreneurs across the district.
Emphasizing the importance of increased outreach, the DC directed each Yuvadoot to ensure the submission of at least one application per day. He also instructed the ACR and SDMs to closely monitor the performance of Yuvadoots in their respective jurisdictions and submit weekly progress reports.
"Yuvadoots are not just facilitators—they are the bridge between governance and the grassroots. Their responsibility is not only to inform but to inspire and mobilize community action,” the DC remarked, highlighting the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure impactful results.
To ensure sustained oversight and address operational hurdles, the DC ordered weekly review meetings of Yuvadoots. He also called for unified and collaborative efforts from all departments to ensure the successful and effective implementation of Mission YUVA throughout Budgam.
