IGP Kashmir Felicitates Srinagar Police Team for Busting Inter-State Narcotics Network
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 08: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar Singh, IPS on Thursday felicitated the Srinagar Police team for successfully dismantling an organised inter-state narcotics network operating in Downtown Srinagar.
The team, led by SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy IPS, was recognised for its sustained investigative efforts that led to the detection of the network during the investigation of FIR No. 135/2026 registered at Police Station Safakadal.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of eight accused persons and the recovery of substantial quantities of narcotic substances, cash, gold and other valuable assets collectively worth crores of rupees, police said.
The probe also uncovered inter-state linkages and financial channels allegedly associated with the organised drug-trafficking network, providing investigators with crucial leads into its operational and financial structure.
The felicitated team included Zonal SP Showkat Ahmad, SDPO M.R. Ganj Junaid Wali, besides Station House Officers and Investigating Officers of Police Station M.R. Ganj, who played a key role in the investigation.
IGP Kashmir appreciated the professionalism, dedication and sustained efforts of the Srinagar Police team and called upon officers to maintain a focused approach against organised crime and narcotics trafficking.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug-trafficking networks, targeting their financial infrastructure and taking stringent action against those involved in the illicit narcotics trade. ANB
