Srinagar Police marked Constitution Day across all its units and establishments to commemorate 75 years of the Constitution of India. The observance aimed to reinforce the constitutional values that guide policing and public service.
At the District Police Office (DPO) Srinagar, IGP Kashmir, Shri V. K. Birdi, IPS, led officers and officials in the collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India. Senior officers, including DIG CKR Shri Rajiv Pandey, IPS, SSP Srinagar Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, and other officials of District Police Srinagar, were also present on the occasion.
During the gathering, officers reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the constitutional principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity while carrying out their professional duties.
The reading of the Preamble served as a reminder of the fundamental values and vision upon which the nation stands. By highlighting social, economic, and political justice along with liberty, equality, and fraternity, the Preamble continues to act as a moral compass for all institutions, including the police.
Observing Constitution Day through the collective reading of the Preamble symbolizes a renewed pledge by the Jammu & Kashmir Police to protect citizens’ rights, uphold the rule of law, and safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation.
